Revolutionizing Office Spaces: A Blend of Functionality and Aesthetics

Anna Maslova and Gregory Neverov's Award-Winning Office Design

Anna Maslova and Gregory Neverov, renowned architects, have transformed a traditional office space in St. Petersburg into a vibrant, functional, and symbolic hub for a technology company. Their design, which won the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019, is a testament to their innovative approach to architecture and interior design.

The inspiration for the design came from the principles and ideology of the client's company. The architects aimed to create a bright and functional space that would be comfortable for all team members and foster a strong team spirit. The office, which serves as the company's main Technology Center, needed to preserve the historical character of its location while also accommodating the company's need for a thought-out, functional, and symbolic interior.

One of the unique features of the design is the use of transformable zones, multitasking spaces, and high glass partitions. These elements not only preserve the openness of the space but also provide sufficient sound insulation for the comfort of the teams. The office is zoned by these glass partitions, visually uniting the space and the people within it.

The design was realized using furniture and accessories by Vitra, a leading manufacturer of contemporary and classic furniture for homes, offices, and public spaces. The selection includes the EM table, Chair DKR-2, Prouve Chair Standard SP, ID Mesh, Tyde table, Nelson Bench, Map table, Physix studio chair, ID Mesh chair, ESU Eames BookCase, Ad hoc high meeting table, HAL Stool high, Work it, JOYN platform, Storage, Ad Hoct table, and Vitra Living Tower.

The design team faced several challenges during the project, which began in June 2017 and was completed in June 2018. One of the main challenges was to create a large real-life communication point in the central part of the corridor, a place for relaxation and discussions. To overcome this, all walls in the office were made into writing surfaces, allowing for easy visualization of ideas and facilitating communication among colleagues.

In conclusion, the office design by Anna Maslova and Gregory Neverov is a perfect blend of functionality and aesthetics. It not only provides a comfortable working space for all staff members but also reflects the company's working principles and fosters a sense of unity and belonging. The design is a testament to the architects' innovative approach and their ability to transform a traditional office space into a vibrant, functional, and symbolic hub.
